Dell Laptop black screen

    After leaving the computer in sleep mode for a few days and trying to start, I got the black screen with just a cursor which could move from the mouse pad.

    I got into Bios, did nothing but save and it rebooted to a Dell screen saying it would do a checkup and would reboot and this may happen many times.

    It did reboot to a black screen with the Windows bar moving across continually. It has been doing this for about an hour.

    At one stage I was able to get the Windows black screen option option to Repair and it did the same thing as it is doing now.

    Any help please?
