I am trying to replace my wifes computer with a Vista Machine and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get rid of the scroll/numbers/caps lock icons in the quick launch?????

    Any help appreciated.

You should be able to simply right click on the offendingicon and then delete. If you don't want the quick launch at all there are several ways to get rid of it like right click on your taskbar scroll up to toolbars and uncheck Quick Launch. I can't remember ever seeing those particular icons in the quick launch but that is how you would remove any other icon from it.

That was my thought as well. Unfortunately there is no right click option.

OK well then again i have never seen those paticular icons in the notification area either. Do they just not respond at all using right click? Well i am not sure how to delete them but you can permanently hide them by right clicking the taskbar in a blank area then choosing properties>notification area>customize and when you click on the offending icon (hopefully they show up there) you should get a drop down with several options one being hide.
