New to Vista.. Downloaded Savings Bond Wizard program but advised to close any other programs before installation. Don't know the correct process to do this or what essential programs Vista Premium needs to live. Is this done through Task Manager? Having a hard time finding answer to a very basic question...thnx.

The long answer, and generally not needed, is to start Task Manager (ctl-Alt-Delete, select when window appears) and shutdown all the "unnecessary" tasks. Problem is, it's really hard to know which ones are "necessary".

Simpler approach is to click each icon in the tray area (lower-right corner of the screen), and Exit each one of the running apps.

When you go to install, right-click on the setup program and select "Run as Administrator".
