I have a Windows Vista Home edition with 32 bit OS. Since last few days I am facing this issue with the command prompt. It does not recognise any of the windows comands except the basic DOS commands such as cd, dir, etc.

    Example -

'ping' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Same goes for ipconfig, java, etc

However when i provide full path and extension it works -
    Ex -
    C:\Windows\System32\ping.exe 10.0.0.33

I have checked for syatem PATH variable and it has all required paths mentioned.

Any help in tracing the error will be much appreciated.

I would like to attach a screenshot to one of my posts, but don't know how you did that. Can you tell me how?

You need to login and click on the "Go Advanced". Then select the attachment icon and upload your file
