Can't restore windows image from HP recovery

    Hi All
    Have tried to reinstall a windows image on my Vista Business HP machine but seems no opportunity to tell it I want to restore from an image rather than a clean install of VB.
    Is it the software on the HP disks I'm using? Any other alternative without filling my harddrive with viruses? Thanks Rob:)
