Can't install on Vista

    I recently installed the 32 vista, and i downloaded and installed aim and itunes successfully. However, after getting pissed off as hell with having to use my administrative to add a new folder to my hard drive, i went and changed some of the security settings to try and stop that pop-up. However, afterward i later decided to install daemon tools and trillian, but whenever i try to install them i get an error saying "A referral was returned from the server" and then i press ok and thats it. I have no problem installing programs off of cd's though, im installing oblivion right now with no problem. I dont know if me changing the security settings did this or what, but I would really appreciate some help.
