I'm not sure if this topic is appropriate for this Vista-oriented forum, but...

I'm looking for an external antenna for my Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop (Vista) that plugs into a USB port that would pull in more wireless signals and make them stronger. Is there anything out there that would help me? I suppose I'd want something that can pull in all types [like the "n" (as opposed to "a" or "g") routers that are out there--can you tell that I don't exactly know what I'm talking about?]?

Our router's wireless signal comes to within 500 feet or so of my tent (I sleep in a tent year-round--I love nature!). I also wonder if they sell battery-powered signal boosters. Thank you!
