Build 5308 help!

Installed beta 2 built 5308 today, everything works fine except I can't see any of the visual effects, it looks pretty much like XP, do I have to manually enable the 3D visual effects or something? Please help, thanks.



P4 Centrino Core Duo 2.16Ghz, 2GB Ram, Nvidia Go 7800.

 

Well I'm thinking it's a laptop because of the video card, it seems like a pretty strong video card. I'm thinking it's probaly a driver problem, here's a link to another topic which could be helpful...

Yeah it's a laptop, brand spanking new with the core duo processors. I'm thinking it's a driver issue too, too bad they don't have a vista beta driver for this card yet.

 

You can also make sure that they arnt turned off for some odd reason. Right click on your desktop and go to personalized settings, and hit themes and make sure you not using the "windows classic" theme. I am guessing the classic theme is what you are describing.Like Venom said,It is most likely a driver issue or that your graphics card doesnt support the LDDM drivers for aero. Your card is not listed, but the GO 6800 is so I dont know why the GO 7800 wouldnt be, and since its a new laptop Im assuming it shold work w/ vista.

 

I was just doing a search and found a guy who has an nvidia GO card and it wouldnt display glass in earlyier builds but worked in 5308.

Have you tried this forceware driver?

Or you can let windows try and search its database for a driver in the driver details tab, hit update, and let windows look for one.

 

thank you all, it's got to be a driver issue. I am not using the classic theme. I'll try the above driver tonight.
