I was using Windows 8 on my HP xw8200 Workstation, but I'm setting aside that license for a new PC in the fall or winter of next year (when I have the money). So for now I've place Vista back on my machine. I'm up to date (using Server 2008 patches) through to March 2018.

Just wondering if there are still folks here humming along with Vista.

    Cheers!

I'm no longer running Vista on any machines, almost all of them are running Windows 10 nowadays. I'd be interested to know how many Vista users there are still too :).

Teasing a bit. I've been following comments from you at the MSFN Vista site for I guess about a year. I've made a handful of comments in the last month or so on the Updating-from-Server-2008 discussion thread, but I don't recall actually addressing anything to you,

So, I'd be remiss in not recognizing your presence here, but you aren't in the same spot.

If there are any die-hard Windows Vista SP2 users still out there, I have submitted 2 detailed guides for installing and updating (official and post-EOL) this operating system. Enjoy!

Why are you using it? It hasn't been updated for a long time. Programs do not support directives. I don't understand

My last reply to this thread was more than 2 years ago, and I no longer monitor it.

The Windows Vista SP2 project is still alive and is doing well at the MyDigitalLife forums.

I was going to say, that I posted that in 2018. I’m using Windows 8 now. Have been for a long while. Nonetheless, the Vista KernelEx project allows LOTS of newer applications to run wonderfully on Vista.

Interesting re Vista, which I am, or rather was using until it crashed last week. I have posted in forum concerned with recovery, etc., 2-3 days ago, but as yet there is still no reply for my request for help. Now I am relying on Windows 7, and also a Chromebook, but I would love to have Windows Vista re-installed on the other laptop, which I bought for my granddaughter, and gradually taught myself on that one.
If any one can help, please see my post on the recovery forum, and then feed me some suggestions. Thanks.
