Anyone, please help! Microsoft Support Diagnostic Tool has stopped working

    Hi All, first time here, hoping someone will be able to help me or put me in contact with someone who can.

    I am trying to update my computer. I got error 80073712. I was told to try and use the Windows System Update Readiness tool. This is a .diacab file. Tried to run this using win+R then typing in msdt /cab [file path]. Microsoft Support Diagnostic Tries to open and run but crashes with the following:

    msdt.exe - Application Error
    The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005) to terminate the application
