    Hi there.

Just installed Vista, sound not working. The reason being, before I upgraded, a sound cable (the one I use to connect my speakers) broke off inside the machine. Previously, I was able to ignore it and put another cable in another speaker port, and using a program called Realtek, could choose which port sound came out of. Vista will not let me do that, and seems to have fairly locked ideas about what sound (left right, 7.1, bass, whatever) comes out of what port.

Does anyone know a way to change this?

    Thanks for your help.

Have you been on the realtek website? I'm sure I found a download for my on board sound and it came with the realtek app. That was before creative had a driver for my sound card - almost a year ago now.
