    My goal:

To get Windows Server 2003 64 bit and Vista Ultimate 64 bit to dual boot off the Intel D975XBX2 motherboard with two Western Digital Raptor drives running off the Marvell SATA controller.

    Problems:

    1. Couldn't find driver for Marvell SATA for Vista 64 bit

    2. Found driver but Vista would not install driver by any normal method

    Solution:

    1. Found drivers on Intel's web site by searching knowledge base for Marvell Vista

    link: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scr...=12304&agr=N&lang=eng&PrdMap=2578

    2. Installed this version of the Marvell SATA controller in the 2003 Server 64 bit install

    3. Installed 64 bit Vista from within the 2003 Server install pointing the install to the .inf file in the C:\Windows\System32\ReinstallBackups\xxxx\Drivers\mv61xx.inf

Rest of install went smoothly. In fact, Vista loaded drivers for all other components without a hitch.

System: Intel D975XBX2 motherboard, Intel Conroe 6600 Core 2 Duo Processor, Kingston 667 1gb Memory x 4, BFG Nvidia 7950GT 512mb Video, WD 74GB Raptor Drives x 2 on Marvell SATA, Seagate 320gb SATA II drives x 4 in RAID 5 on ICH7 SATA RAID, PC P&C 750W power supply in Cooler Master CM Stacker case with aftermarket Zalman coolers for CPU and GPU.
