14 svchost.exe's running in task manager

    i have 14 svchost.exe running and its taking up A LOT of memory. does anyone know how to decrease the number of these processes?!?!

    Those are groups of windows system process's windows groups them according to priority and security elevation. You shouldnt kill any of those. What you can do is through control panel or what not, turn off certain services you do not need ex. DHCP or TELNET, this should reduce some of the process's. Check the boards for a list of services you can stop. I posted a link a while back.
