Cannot send message that takes over 30 sec. Get 'Server terminate connection'
error even though I have server time-out set at 5 minutes in Mail Account
Advanced Properties.

That could be a by design feature of your ISP, to stop you sending large
files etc.

If you are sending a large file or video etc try sending it in several
parts, to do this go to the tools menu>accounts>select the account that you
will be using>properties>advanced tab>set break apart messages larger than
500KB>apply/OK.

Now try sending a large message.

The recipient will need to select all the parts of the received file>right
click>combine and decode.

HTH?

Any problem get back.

What size attachment are you sending? Most ISPs have a limit
somewhere in the range of 2-10MB.
Also, which antivirus are you using?

2 Mb attachment and my ISP (Cox Cable) has 10MB limit. Using Trend Micro
A-V, but have shut it off and still no change----server terminate error
message after 30 sec.

This kind of problem is almost always caused by a third party
security program. As a test, uninstall your Trend AV, reboot, then
try sending again. If the send is successful this time, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see

Since the OP is sending a 2MB attachment under an allowed ISP limit
of 10MB, there should be no need to break the attachment into smaller
chunks.

Sorry, yes I did. My ISP is Cox cable and they have a 10MB limit. I have
used the 'break apart' feature. Thanks
