I received a bright red email in my in box. I have not clicked on it because
it may be a virus? I have run AVG anti virus and spy bot search and destroy
and both say my computer is fine. However, the red email message is still in
my in box and I'm concerned it is a virus time bomb waiting to go off and
crash my computer. Has anyone experienced this and if so, what do I do?
Thank you in advance.

Does WM offer a warning message that tell you it is a possible Phising
attempt?
Does the mail have an Icon of a pair of spectacles next to it?

WM did offer a message that it may be a phishing attempt. The icon is not a
pair of spectacles; it is a red shield with a white "X" on it. I called my
internet service provider and they said it was a problem with my virus
software (AVG Free Edition). I have had AVG for years and not had a problem
with it before. Thank you for answering back.

It is not caused by AVG, it is a safety feature in WM.

You should be able to see who it comes from, (most probably it is from a
fake Bank etc), if you do not know them or want the mail simply delete it.

If you wish you can close down the preview pane to delete it,
view>layout>un-check preview pane>apply/OK

If you know the sender then mark it as safe.

You will not get a Virus from an email, you would if you opened an infected
file attachment, so don't worry :-)

It is advisable to not have the mail scan section of your AVG AV active, WM
does not like 3rd party scanning of mail, you will possibly get a corrupt
mail store eventually?
