I am running vista home basic and my system recovery somehow got deleted!!!
Is there anyway that if I purchase the Home Basic CD that I can install that
over the home basic I have now?? I'm really trying to avoid taking this in
to shop as there are wayyyy to many errors on this thing to post. Can I
upgrade to fix the problems?? I don't know what to do. Nothing is backed up
either!! Thank you so much for your help

Contact the manufacturer/vendor about getting back some means of recovering
your system..

If you do buy a home basic upgrade you can upgrade your installation with
it, I believe using recovery options reinstall the OS and you lose your
installed programs and data.
At least that was true with my Compac laptop.

Many OEM's offer recovery disks, usually you have to pay for shipping (at a
minimum).

Check the website of your computer's manufacturer, usually you can find them
in the Support/Download area.
