Hello,
I have Dell inspiron 1525 with visat operating system, I did format for partiton D, recovery partiton, is it possible to restore factory image using DVD?

NO ... it is not.

The factory install comes with the particular drivers needed for the Dell, along with Dell apps and utilities. Those will not be found on a regular Vista DVD.

You should have used the Dell option to create restore DVDs from the Recovery partition -- BEFORE you reformatted it.

If you use a regular Vista dvd, go to

http://support.euro.dell.com/

for your drivers and such like.
