My Windows Vista won't stay booted up long enough for me to do anything and even safe mode is hanging up. I am trying to do a system repair from the original Vista installation disc.
When I get to the point where I can click on repair windows it brings up a box telling me to click on the windows installation i want to repair, if none are listed click on "load drivers". So I click on load drivers and another box pops up asking me to browse to the location of the files. It is looking for setup type files. I have browsed through the Vista installation disc, the Dell Drivers and Utilities disc that came with my computer and done a web search which turned up nothing useful. So the question is where are these repair setup files?

I downloaded visual studio 2010 on my laptop. It was a trial version so eventually I uninstalled it. After uninstalling it I also deleted some files in the program file that I thought I got when installing the visual studio. I have a itunes n my laptop. But when I open my itunes, it says that the file was no longer located on my laptop. And also when I installed a new software it was running, but when I restart my laptop, when I click the software icon, it also says it was not already there. My speculation was I deleted a framework or something that able to run a software like itunes. What must be the possoble cause of my problem?:(

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.

Device Manager says Realtek Highh Definituion Audio is working properly. I checked my cable and its plugged-in properly and its turned on, I tried a different speaker and it didn't work. I wonder what's going on. Can someone help me I don't know what to do?

I just purchased this 'Ole' computer. It's a Gateway GT5622 and a JBL M310J subwoofer came with it. The sound system worked great but I have been adding and deleting software. Could the problem be caused by a conflict with another program? There is NVIDA software on this computer that I am not familiare with.

HI Guys

First a little back ground info

A 150 GB partitioned HDD held my C: Drive at about 75 GB the drive kept getting full and I also had persistant Low memory warning.

I would delete unused program files and burn to disk photos etc to make more room but literally a couple days later the HDD would be almost full.

I cloned the then full HDD to a 250GB Drive and repartitioned which gave my C drive approx 160GB

All good

Still getting my low memory despite CPU running at approx 75%

Then noticed that from somewhere the amount of Data on the C drive has jumped by approx 25 GB in about a week despite only using for emails and a small amount of paper work

My HDD always sounds as though it is doing plenty of work a bit like a defrag.

I think something has gone wrong and is working away in the back ground creating data.

Can anybody help with how or where I can work out what it is.

Cheers

I have a Dell Studio 1735 with Windows Vista Home. Firefox began to crash too often to be able to use it. I followed Mozilla's suggestions one of which was to scan with Malwarebytes. The scan gets hung on the file beginning with C:\SystemVolumeInformation.I have read how to access the file, but not how to look for a problem. I have tried to access the System Restore files but have been unable to do this as yet. I am new to the Forums and I could not find any thread dealing with this. I also hope that I am in the right forum for this problem. Thank you for any help.
