when I open contacts and hit it and then hit email so I get an email with the
contacts email address ready to send, I now get a blank send line and the
"contact email" person I'm sending to is an attachment. This started
recently after having windows mail for several months. Can anyone help?

thank you

Does it work the alternate way:
Click Create Mail, click To, select recipient.

Also, which antivirus are you using?

Gary -- you are right, it works when you go the "create mail" and "to" route
-- I really appreciate you taking the time -- computers drive me nuts . . .
as to the antivirus, it's the mcafee. Thanks again.

thank you

Good to hear that the workaround does the job for you.
As far as your antivirus, McAfee is likely to cause problems with
Windows Mail. As a minimum, disable McAfee's scanning of emails.
