cant find the internal aux sound in my vista basic

Please help i cant find the internal aux for my pc i cant hear any sound ,,i
can see it is working ..and iv had it once but when i turned of the pc the
next day it had gone ,,,iv no sound card but i know it works brcouse iv had
it working,,please help...
