Cannot send emails!!!!

Just got back from out of town, turned on My Computer (3 months old) and
could not send emails. (but can receive) Here's the message:

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'yyyyy@ aol.com'. Subject 'Re: One more
poem', Account: 'Earthlink.net', Server: 'Earthlink.net', Protocol: SMTP,
Server Response: '550 Authentication required. Help at
http://www.earthlink.net/go/emailsettings', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

This is a problem I have never encountered. Went to every place in my
computer I could think of, followed all the steps. Everything is as it
should be according to the help messages and also former responses to this
problem.

However I am able to send mail through Earthlink via WebMail. Hmmmm.

Please help if you can!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I followed the second link to Earthlink & their Vista Mail
help page led me thru the steps one by one. Altho my final box/ step did not
look like theirs, I did what I could do and it took care of the problem.

I can not recieve emails through window mail, it say protocol 110 POP3 error,
or it does not respond at all, I need my emails.

You problem is never exactly the same as the person's problem you are =
hijacking onto.
Start a new post and copy the error message exactly or we can not help.
