Can't send email with Thunderbird

I was able to send and receive one email for a few hours when I first set up
Thunderbird and then all of a sudden I couldn't send emails. But I can still
receive emails just fine.

Ever time I try and send a message it says:
Sending of message Failed.
The Message could not be sent because connecting to SMTP server
smtp.live.com failed the server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP
connection. Please verify that your SMTP sever setting is correct and try
again, or contact your network administartor.

smtp.live.com is set at port 25 SSL although it worked on port 25 TLS

I have ISP is MSN Premeum, Thunderbird, Micro Trend.

When connecting to an email server for one internet provider through
another internet provider's equipment, connections to port 25 are
often blocked to cause trouble for spammers.

What if any antivirus programs do you have? Some common ones
such as Norton, McAfee, and Trend cause various problems with
Windows Mail, although seldom immediately.

According to this blog: http://mailcall.spaces.live.com

the live.com servers are for Hotmail Plus users, not MSN Premium users.
I don't know if that policy is still in effect.
