Browser connection stopping

I have a real poser My browser (I have tried different ones to check) stops after awhile and I cant get the net But i can Ping and get reply use email and news groups I have closed firewall and virus protection And tried another connection IE friends house. Its via wireless but i repeat email and news and ping command work ok any suggestions
