Alright let's cut to chase...

1. Turn on Computer

2. Dos stuff runs

3. Window loading bar

4. BLACK SCREEEN!!!!!!!!!!....????????????????????

5. User Log Menu thing... (but it doesn't reach here... at all.)

I've tried ALL of the options when you press F8 at the beginning of the boot.

NONE OF THE OPTIONS WORKS.

Lost my recovery CD. Now what? Anybody?

Thanks,

JOESHMOE

All I can suggest is that you go to the link below, download the appropriate Vista Repair CD image, burn that to CD, boot from that, and run Startup Repair three times -- that's right, three times.

I hear a weird clicking noise coming from the harddrive. Would it be appropiate to say the hard drive it faulty?

Such noises generally indicate a failing drive, but not always.

IF you can find out the make and model of your drive, go to the manufacturer's website and see if they offer a disk utility you can download to run diagnostics against the drive.

You will need a working PC to do that, and you'll need to remove the failing drive and connect it to the other PC as an external drive.
