I am sorry if this is right group to post
I have a gateway mx6454 and download BIOS update Winphlash1656.exe from
Gateway.
I followed the readme file to update the BIOS utility that flashes the BIOS
on the motherboard.
Load New BIOS -- Pass
Analyze Old and New BIOS Compatibility -- Pass
Read Old BIOS --- Pass
Save old BIOS to backup file -- Pass
Flash New BIOS -- failed

The readme file said I should reboot then try the step "Flash BIOS" again.
I missed the step of reboot and did "Flash BIOS" again.
Now:
Load New BIOS -- Pass
Analyze Old and New BIOS Compatibility -- Pass
Read Old BIOS --- Pass
Save old BIOS to backup file -- Pass
Flash New BIOS -- failed -- the computer is freeze, dead.
Even I click and hold power botton the computer still freeze do not turn off
I waiting for 8 hours and do not know how to do.

Please advise
Thanks

Find a friend, use his PC to download previous BIOS version, and flash
that.
Something isn't right with the new version.
Some of us think Gateway sucks for a reason.

You may do whatever you like.
You will need to reflash BIOS with old version, more than likely.
You either got a wrong version, or gimped hardware that doesn't actually
match the new BIOS.
If you falshed it with an .exe thru Windows, perhaps booting to the
flash drive (a CD, thumbdrive in your case) would work better.

Thank you very much
Thing is not as bad as I thought.
After plug power off and on again.
The laptop can still reboot.
