Have you looked at the list of file extension that associate with WMP ? it should play .cda files by default, in fact all 'players' should, if the extension is associated you may have fallen foul of a DRM issue, what is the disk and is it combined media or purely .cda files, also have you tried to play it on a home or car stereo to see if the disk itself is undamaged. Final thought, if it wont play try opening the 'rip' dialogue and rip the tracks to your hdd which with WMP will be put in the 'username'\music directory as .wma files, if they wont play from there then they are either corrupt or you have a DRM issue I think.
