| I recently updated my copy of Vista Ultimate (Legit) for educational purposes for teaching other students and etc, about the new Windows Vista. I recently installed updates yesterday... 5/11/07. Now when I restarted Vista, it keeps saying configuring updates... (wait 2 mins) shutting down system... (wtf) and it loops it all the damn time, I tried using the DVD to restore vista, couldn't find no problems, I tried to run safemode but instead of showing the configuring updates, it shuts down quickly. I dont understand whats going on and I've tried googling for a solution but no luck. Please help me out guys, the company is going to fry my behind if I end up not being able to fix this problem.
If this helps... I also ran a bootleg copy of Vista with activation patch and etc, same thing happened to that one too, but since last year, however I didnt care because it was bootleg... , so what do you guys think the problem is? |

| | Very weird. Did you install some custom updates (i.e upadtes it didn't want to itself)? I have no idea of how to fix the problem as it seem vista wont let you in to sort anything out. All I can recommend is reinstalling vista fresh. It will move everyting to a windows.old folder where you can move all your files and documents back over to your new installation, make backup incase of another problem and install all the default updates again. The problem is probably hardware/driver related as you say it happened on a previous vista installation on your computer.

| The repair function on DVD of vista is only for startup problems. Try running in safe and reinstalling drivers.
