Hey all.

I recently upgraded to Vista after XP had finally died on me. I was a bit worried that the love of my life, cs 1.6, would be effected after the upgrade. Well unfortunately, I did run into a problem. I had no trouble installing steam/counter strike... but while playing I freeze for a second or two - every 30 seconds or so. This is a problem that I'm pretty sure has to do with my wireless connection. I experienced exactly the same problem on xp a few years back when I first played counterstrike with my wireless connection. The solution was to go to services and disable "wireless zero config" - atleast I think thats what it was called.
Problem is I cannot find it on Vista, so I don't know what to do. Perhaps it was named something else? I was hoping someone here might be able to help.

Also, might aswell include - I have quite a low end PC... It's rated "2.0" on the hardware performance thing. But easily enough to handle Counter Strike 1.6, especially with it tweaked to the max and using low settings... the online experience was smooth. Constant 100 fps etc. Now with Vista, the fps seems to be more "jumpy" sometimes going down to 40-60 and everything is jittery/unsmooth. Feels as if there isn't enough resources to run the half life engine as well as it did on XP. Any help on that too would be great.

Cheers,

Navieko

Ah, I managed to fix the freezing problem. "Wireless zero config" had been renamed to "WLAN Autoconfig". Disabling it fixed the problem. As far as the other problem goes, I think I just need more ram.
