Had problems with Battlefield 2
You have to run in admin mode , else you will be booted by Punkbuster
Also had problems with online play being jerky. (where BF2142 is smooth as glass)
Rectified problem by running BF2 in XP Sp2 mode

Running Core 2 Duo
Nvidia 7850 GX2
2 Gig Ram

Going to goto 4 gig asap

Not a very good set-up

Pentium 4  -  3GHz

Intel (R) 82945G Express Chip Controler O ( Microsoft Corporation - WDDM )

Which i'm thinking of changing to Nvidia ?

1 G  Ram

I've tried all of the above and BF2 still doesn't start-up ?

All i get is the BF2 picture at start - the screen goes blank as if the game is starting up and then nothing ?

Any ideas , while i wait for a reply i'll be trying BlackHawk Down and Joint Operations by NovaLogic .

Cheers OldFox.

I had problems with 2142.. it would crash after a round of titan mode?  I still get the error.. Using a 7800 GT card.  I think it has something to do with RendDx9.dll file in the battlefield 2142 folder.  If you could send me your Renddx9.dll file and see if your works, that would be great. I've heard some people doing that and it worked. I've reinstalled and everything my battlefield 2142.  I dunno what else to do? Also Have a creative xfi sound card. EVen ran that on software mode and also deleted the cache folder and profile.  So... anyone with 2142 and running vista could send me your renddx9.dll file. That would be great and see if  that resolves the issue at all.

OldFox nice try running BF2 with intergrated GFx card. I would've hugged you if it worked. Btw a good cheap graphics card is the ATI X1650 Pro 512 mb RAM bought mine for 150 USD and am very happy with it can run Oblivion on high.

PS i live in a not so computer advanced country so the prices of components are higher here.
