Router Not Obtaining IpExpand / Collapse

Hi i have a windows xp pc witch i connected to my router then router to my
cable modem on my vista laptop it says local only is there away i can fix
this ?

Posting the result of ipconfig /all may help.

Since "vista laptop it says local only", we would like to see the ipconfig
/all.

By your post, you don't have a modem router, but a modem AND a router.

Internet>modem>router> XP and vista comp both plugged into the router.
