| | | | my vista ultimate boot disk (WD raptor 74G) is almost full and I would like
to replace it by a larger one (WD raptor 150G) without having to reinstall
everything.
in doing my homework, i came across 2 suggested techniques
- use the WD lifeguard tools to do a disk-to-disk copy
- use vista complete PC backup (to a tmp HD, bood with the original DVD
and do a restore to the new raptor drive)
any one recommended over the other ? are they both safe ? any gotcha's that
I should be careful about ?

the new drive in place. After you've logged in and are sure everything
is working, you can attach the old drive and format it for extra storage
if you like. Naturally, you will have backed up all your data *before*
you do anything.

I'd try WD lifeguard tools because it should be less time-consuming.
Be sure to shut down the machine after the clone is performed
and remove the original drive...then put the new one in it's place.
Just don't reboot with both drives in place immediately after the clone
process is complete
