I am unable to attach a photo to e-mail from Windows Explorer in Vista.
I use MS Outlook as my default mail.
For example, with a photo, I right-click, select "Send to....Email
Recipient", select size, slect "Attach", it goes through "attaching"
the files but then nothing happens. A mail window does not open.
I have set all my defaults to Outlook yet still nothing happens and not
quite sure what to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What i reakon is that if you have the picture open or the document open
you can't do that... If you are using vista try to default your email to
Windows mail.. it works better.. I don't think this works with outlook..
why i am saying so is because I had customer having that problem with
outlook but when I default her email to windows mail.. it solved the
issue.. and please check and delete the OLK and internet temporary files
if you have too much accumulated..
Regards

Hi Ashvin
I don't think that is the problem. I have used vista and outlook for
the past 2 and a half years and this has always worked. The problem just
began this week and I have no idea why, maybe some update or something.
Any other ideas?
Amy

What is?
Who are you talking to and about what?
Please note:
This is NOT a chat room and although you think you are posting to a forum
run by Techarena - you are actually posting to a global Usenet Newsgroup.
Techarena forums leach off the Microsoft News Servers in order to make them
seem far busier than they really are. Those of us (the vast majority) who
use the MS News server rather than Techarena forums have NO IDEA what you
are talking about.
You will get a far better experience if you use a newsreader and subscribe
to these groups directly, rather than through TechArena.

If you must stay with TechArena then please follow Usenet custom by quoting
the post you are replying to, and replying to the thread.
Thank you.

Ashvin replied to my post saying saying that I must have the attachment
I want to send open, but this is not the case. He also said that windows
mail should be my default and not outlook but again this is not the
issue as I have used outlook and vista for over 2 years and have never
had this problem until now.
Any help anyone can give will be very much appreciated!

Ok then delete the accummulated OLK files under your Internet temporary
files
Locations:
Where are these folders ? The location is stored into registry in
different places for different Outlook versions:
- Outlook 97
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.0\Outlook\Security
- Outlook 98
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.5\Outlook\Security
- Outlook 2000
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\Security
- Outlook 2002/XP
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Security
- Outlook 2003
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security
- Outlook 2007
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security\OutlookSecureTempFolder
Then close outlook and delete the path
- Locate the Outlook Temporary Items folder by opening the Registry
and locating
*HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security\OutlookSecureTempFolder*
- Navigate to the value of this Key. It should be something like:
*%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK3D\* where
OLK3D is some randomly generated string that always starts with OLK
- Quit Outlook
- Delete the contents of the folder
- Launch Outlook
