I've just done a system restore on my Acer Aspire 5100, and since then, I haven't been able use Windows Live Messenger. It's restored to how it was when we first bought the computer. I've installed updates with Windows update. I've tried uninstalling it, and reinstalling it, which did nothing. I've tried looking for answers on google, but I haven't found anything yet.
The best description of the problem I can give is that when I start up the program, it will sometimes crash, and whenever I try signing on, it crashes. Every time. A window pops up telling me that "Windows Live Messenger has stopped working." It gives me the option to check online for solutions, but it never finds any solutions. Here are some "Problem details":

This is just jibberish to me, maybe you guys can make some sence of it. When I close down the program, Windows Help pops up, with information about DEP (Data Execution Prevention). I tried changing the settings with DEP in case it was blocking Windows Live, but it didn't help anything. I have a feeling it's Vista blocking the program, but I don't know how I can unblock it.

I'm new here, so I don't really know what information you guys need to know, so, if I left out anything you might need to know, just ask (:

Thanks!

We don't have the resources to debug application program crashes -- but MS does.

Use the link below to go to the MS Site for filing a report and requesting their help:
