That's just your opinion or personal experience. Windows Live Mail=20
works fine for me and for many others.
Had you asked for help in the WLM newsgroup, we would have been
able to assist you, instead of relying on the dummies who work for
AT&T first tier tech support.

Did you upgrade a Vista computer to Windows 7?
Windows 7 will deactivate your Windows Mail, but it will save all
the messages. Just do a search for .EML files. You can import those
into Windows Live Mail.

you might try this link...
http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB401738&cv=740,102
but their website is funky, and probably won't let me give a direct link to
the help page. For different services, and/or different areas, it may be
different...
It basically says:
Check email settings to ensure your email client (i.e., Outlook Express,
Outlook, etc.) contains the correct mail server settings and that your email
address and password are entered correctly.
Note: Mail server settings are listed below. For full instructions on how
to verify your email settings, select the link in step 1.
Incoming mail server (POP3)
pop.att.yahoo.com
Outgoing mail server:
smtp.att.yahoo.com - Outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
Incoming mail port :
995, secure connection (SSL) checked
Outgoing mail port :
465, secure connection (SSL) checked
Email Address / Username / Account Name in Client
Use full email address (i.e., johnsmith@att.net, johnsmith@bellsouth.net,
johnsmith@sbcglobal.net)

I did a clean installation of a upgrade and imported WLM, with zero results.

I'm not sure what "importing" WLM means. Anyway, problems with
WLM should be posted in the WLM newsgroup:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?d=
g=3Dmicrosoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop
or via your news reader: =

It may be his personal experience, but for him it sucks. And for many
others who don't want to conform to dumbed down products compared to what
they are used to.
