| | Hey guys, okay, this is how it all started.... i installed updates one day and then restarted, comp then started to play up. kept crashing at times, some sound on comp wouldnt work (startup tone, sound on internet and mic during game play didnt work), anyways, i deleted that update i installed, no difference. Everytime it crashed (blue screen wit white font) it either said uninstall hardware or update bios. i flashed bios successfully. All of a sudden, it worked for a bit then it just fully crashed on me. I tried to repair using Vista cd no luck. tried to custom, no luck. it will load but then it says "preparing desktop" then just a babyblue background wit a cursor, nothin else. I tried to install windows 7, and it'll do all the neccessary but then i get an error saying ''windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase". PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!! thanks, Pat, hope to hear from you soon!!! |

| Saying "no luck" is not useful to trying to figure out what went wrong.
So, for any help at all, we need to know exactly what state your machine is in at present -- including exactly what happens when you boot up, including the error mesages or blue screen error codes.
Also, you said you tried repairing Vista, so do you have a Vista install DVD? Or do you have a "recovery disk" instead?
Did your machine come with Vista preinstalled? Or did you install it?
And finally, if you've actually reformatted your Vista OS partition, then you've lost everything you had. Without third-party disk recovery software, you have nothing now but an electric brick.
