TweakUAC is a freeware pgm that allows setting UAC in Silent Mode, where it still retains most of its protections but no longer stops pgms from running. I found and installed it because UAC forced me to hit Continue every single time I ran Photoshop 7, which I use several times a day. Turning UAC off was just as bad (more nags) and it removed UAC's protections. It was driving me nuts.

TweakUAC shut it up.

Alas, all is not perfect. Vista keeps putting an icon (no balloon, just icon) in the Notification Area, nagging me to turn UAC back on. It isn't off, exactly, and I'd like to get rid of the icon nag too.

Does anybody know enough about TweakUAC to accomplish this, if it can be done?

P.S.: if you have an endless problem running the same pgm, TweakUAC will solve it. Its worth the icon nag even if you can't get rid of it.
