| | I am desperately trying to streamline my new laptop for audio recording work and am trying to remove or disable all unnecessary programs and drivers and bells and whistles from my Vista Ultimate 64 OS. My work requires the fastest throughput thru the hard drives and CPU. Is there a comprehensive guide or what I can remove safely and also is there a good, safe registry cleaner for Vista 64? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

| In terms of a guide, Google for the Black Viper. That site has suggestions for disabling and turning off services to speed up Vista.
In terms of registry cleaners, my advice is to avoid them. At best, they remove a few keys; at worst, they remove vital stuff and your machine won't boot anymore.
