| | | | Hi
I have Vista x64 , (and didn't know where to put this question.
Live Mail works great, but sometimes when I've used Live Mail and closed it
and opened it, it doesn't won't to start.
What I have to do is to go in to the Task Manager, and in the Process List
are there 2 or 3 wlmail.exe *32 (Windows Live Mail) opened.
If I close down all these ones I'm able to open Windows Live Mail again.
Does anyone else have the same problem and have a solution to this problem.
It's kind of annoying to have to go in to the Task Manager and close down
the program, even though I've closed down Windows Live Mail completely before.
Thanks
Philip

I'll put it there for you by crossposting this reply:

Hi, Philip.
For peer-to-peer support of Windows Live Mail, click here:
(Ignore the word "desktop" in that NG name; that word was dropped from the
program name over 2 years ago, but they say it's much harder to change the
name of a newsgroup.)
You've found the way to work around the problem. The for-sure cause hasn't
yet been identified, but the leading theory is that some name in your
Blocked/Safe Senders lists includes an "illegal" character.

When you try to send an email "on" craigslist or "to" craigslist?

Windows Mail doesn't support HTTP mail, which for a long time was the=20
only allowed access method for free Hotmail accounts.
However, in February, Microsoft enabled POP access for free=20
Hotmail/Live/MSN accounts. Follow the settings given here:
http://mailcall.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!CC9301187A51FE33!49799.entry
Use port 587 rather than port 25 for the SMTP server.
Although it accepts the newer Live.com addresses, Windows Mail's=20
account setup wizard is hard-coded to reject Hotmail and MSN addresses.
To get around that, when you enter your Hotmail/MSN email address =
initially,=20
use a fake one, such as me@xmsn.com. After the account setup is =
complete,=20
go back and correct your email address.=20
