How do you know that "some of my outgoing mail will have the xxxxxxxx
@verizon.net on it"? Is it because "the reply goes to another mailbox"? If
there is no other evidence, then I think there are other possible
explanations. Since this is happening to "some" of your outgoing messages
and not all, it seems unlikely that the problem is the email address in the
account properties. Do you know what the reply address is (probably it is
blank) in the account properties?

Probably this problem cannot be diagnosed without more information and the
information that would be needed would depend on other information. In other
words, it might be too complicated to diagnose in a newsgroup such as this.
Perhaps it would help if you were to show the headers of a sample message,
but if you don't know how to do that (I assume you don't) then it would be a
bit of work to explain things. The important thing is that you should
somehow remove the email addresses from the headers before posting to a
public place such as here.

So if you know someone that is adequately technical that can look at your
system directly, then it would be appropriate to get them to help.

Do you use only the Windows Mail program when sending? If so, look in
Tools, Accounts. Is there a Verizon account as well as an MSN account?

Then you will have to provide a lot more information.
Who is your Internet Service Provider (ISP)?
Have they given you an email identity (address)?
Have you talked to their technical support, or gone to their web site?
Have you tried to setup Windows Mail and failed?
If so, what have your tried and what error messages did you get?

So which account do you want to set up in Windows Mail,
Cox or Hotmail? Assuming the latter:

Follow the settings given here:
http://mailcall.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!CC9301187A51FE33!49799.entry
Use port 587 rather than port 25 for the SMTP server.

Although it accepts the newer Live.com addresses, Windows Mail's=20
account setup wizard is hard-coded to reject Hotmail and MSN addresses.
To get around that, when you enter your Hotmail/MSN email address =

use a fake one, such as me@xhotmail.com. After the account setup is =

go back and correct your email address.=20

No. Use CTRL-S to save it to the Drafts (or File | Save As) while composing
and then you can open it from there if it gets deleted.

I can't answer your question below, but I thought you might help me as a new
user to the MS Community. How do I send a quesiton to the Community? It
seems that they failed to explain this or at least I missed it.

Thanks

I do not understand. Just pressing the Ctrl key alone should do nothing. Do
you know what other key you press?

Do you try doing an undo when the message disappears?
