Who provides your email service? Or to ask that question another way,
what is the part of your email address after the @ symbol?
Your mail provider will typically have a web page that shows how to=20
set up an email program. If you need more help, tell us the name of
your email service provider. If you currently don't have an email =
address,
we can help with that also.

Post frequently in this newsgoup:
US-based free Yahoo accounts have webmail access only, no POP
access. Windows Mail handles POP mail but not Yahoo webmail.
Yahoo's solution is to pay them for premium "Mail Plus" service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/overview/index.html
and use the special settings for that service:

Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Internet
Explorer". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its =
defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green =
arrow.=20

Sign-in to access your email account in Windows Mail, sign-in to access

It would be helpful if you posted that error message. Right-click on =

Also, which antivirus are you running? Some of them cause problems with
Windows Mail over time.

Incidentally, that "three hours earlier" may be an artifact of your time =
zone setting
being wrong. You have it set for Pacific time, although you are located =
in the
Eastern time zone (Boston). Please correct your PC's time zone.

1. Correct your time or time zone setting.
2. To avoid confusion, always begin your own new thread about your =
specific problems.
3. Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application. It provides =
no additional protection, it may be causing your problems, and even =
Symantec says it's not necessary:
Disabling Email Scanning does not leave you unprotected against viruses =
that are distributed as email attachments. Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect =
scans incoming files as they are saved to your hard drive, including =
email and email attachments. Email Scanning is just another layer on top =
of this. To make sure that Auto-Protect is providing the maximum =
protection, keep Auto-Protect enabled and run LiveUpdate regularly to =
ensure that you have the most recent virus definitions.
