When copy/move files in vista I must keep in mind Permissions, if I want secure files in a networked environment hence these mostly inherited [this is common issue?] ?
If this copy/move files done unauthorized may my private files become public ?

May a folder have more specific permissions and a file inside more general permissions ?

In a textbook tip I saw below what is mean ?

"When you work with permissions and encounter a grayed out permissions check box, you know that you need to prevent permission inheritance."

why "prevent" ?
