I have Vista x64 installed, the only virus scanner I could find was avast but even that is not fully compatible..

Does anyone know of another free scanner that will work on the 64-bit version?

TIA

I am using Trend-Micro(free trial) for Vista64 and it is fully compatible. For Vista32 I am using AVG Free edition. For XP-Pro I am using WindowsLive OneCare. Sometimes it's difficult to remember which hat to wear! LOL

I was using Norton AV and firewall before loading Vista RC1, NAV @ that time was inoperable with vista but they now have a version that works, BUT it don't include a firewall yet, which I need.

I tryed MS free trial verson (live onecare) it seemed to do a OK job.

At present time using Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 14 that is free untill 31 Dec 06, I like it best of all so far, and thinking of buying after I load the full, payed for version sometime in Jan. I like the feature in security settings that allow you to input passwords and user names ets. that you dont want uploaded via the internet. Software will flip a warning and if you like, you can allow or disallow for upload. I was supprised @ the sites that want your password and in my case by bank account password. BUT i wonder if this is a tool for marketing there products.

Custom Build, MICRO-STAR , AMD 64 3000 @ 1.8 GHz, 2,559 MB PC3200 @400 MHz RAM, 160 GB HDD, NVIDIA GeFORCE 6200 Turbo Cache PCIe with 256 MB RAM, Windows Vista RC1, (Rating 2.7)

I've been using AVG 7.5 Free.  I've always like AVG and the new version works in 64bit Vista as well.  Avast is also good, but I'm partial to AVG becuase I've been using it for so long.
