| | A recent problem has developed where a network share acts read-only. After the entire machine -- Vista OS -- fell off the network, I was finally able to restore the machine and shares now appear on the network The problem is these shares act read-only despite me doing everything I know with permissions & security. Currently I have set security/permissions on the share for 'everyone to have full control' but even that does not allow write access. I have also made sure I have ownership of files within the share. The error msg is 'Access denied' when I attempt to do anything other than read from a XP machine on the network. From the Vista machine, I have full control for shares on XP machines, but from XP machines I have read-only on the Vista shares. Vista firewall is OFF. However, Vista Public is read/write. Any ideas/help will be much appreciated. TIA - Joe |
