Whever I scroll up and down there is text that pops up in the bottom right corner, is it possible to disable this feature at all?

I have attached a picture of what I mean.

I've not seen this and I've been running a lot of Vista stuff for over two years now on several machines. My guess is that it's application-based, and since I'm not running the apps you are, I have no way of knowing.

My suggestion is that you go into the startup menu and disable all startup programs and then see if this reappears. My guess is that it will not. That being the case, you will need to re-enable the startup programs one at a time, until it reappears. The last program you re-enabled will be the culprit.
