We have 4 computers in our office. One runs Vista - the other 3 are XP. A
customer of ours sends an email to my email address and the Vista guy's email
address with a PDF attachment enclosed. I get the attachment, but the Vista
guy does not. His email is blank with no attachment clip or nothing showing
any kind of an attachment. How can that be??

If I 'forward' the Vista guy in our office the same email that was sent to
both of us, THEN he receives the attachment and can view it.

How can someone forward an email attachment to two people and one of them
not get it?? I've checked all his security settings and his firewall and
nothing is amiss. He can get email attachments from everyone except this one
customer.

Can anyone explain this??

Does it seem to make any difference which address is on the To: line
and which is on the Cc: line instead, if they aren't both on the same line?

It would be helpful if you disclosed which email programs are involved.
If the sender is using Outlook in its proprietary RTF format, only another
Outlook recipient will see that attachment.

The Vista guy should look at the size of the received email. If it is larger
than 10K, the attachment is probably there but not recognized.

To clarify: Vista guy uses Windows Mail and I'm using Outlook Express. The
customer is also using outlook express. This particular email had me as the
CC: and the Vista guy as the To: in the email. But, this customer has sent
attachment emails directly to Vista guy before (leaving me out of it) and
Vista guy still won't receive the attachment, just a blank email with 5kb or
less as the size.

I'm beginning to think this 'customer' is the one with the problem somehow,
our Vista guy gets attachments all the time from other customers, this is the
only customer we are having trouble with. This customer claims we are the
only people he's having trouble sending attachments to. Ugh, my head hurts.

Thanks for that clarification.
If the received message is only 5KB or less in size, it is highly
doubtful that any attachment was included. While viewing that
message, the Vista guy should look at the raw source code by
pressing Ctrl+F3 (works in both OE and Windows Mail). That
should reveal if any attachment is present.

There is a small possibility that the Vista guy's mail server, or
his antivirus/anti-spam program is stripping the attachment, but
I think some sort of notice would be given if that was happening.
