"Microsoft said Saturday it would continue to provide standard warranty support for its HD DVD players. Toshiba President Atsutoshi Nishida last week estimated about 300,000 people own the Microsoft video player, sold as a separate $130 add-on for the Xbox 360."

Bad news for HD-DVD, but good news for some. Remember, you can still get 6 free movies (King Kong in the box!). With the HD-DVD addon for $50 or less, with those movies, it's a steal. Even as a DVD upscaler, it's a bargain. You can still pick up HD-DVD's for a while now, and at some great discount prices.
