Hi,

Is there any way to configure Windows Search to include all filenames in
indexed locations?

I have never found Windows Search useful because it has never returned
results that I'm looking for (in over two years, from within Microsoft).
The problem is that I look for files with odd names, and frequently with no
extensions at all.

To be useful for me Windows Search needs to index all the files it finds (in
indexed locations) and just search the name of the file (I never want to
search on contents, just partial name).

The "Include non-indexed, hidden, and system files" option is not a solution
because it doesn't use the index - I get better performance using GNUwin32
find.exe at the command line.

Thanks.

Jim
