running the program from Windows, I find that the Upgrade option is disabled,
leaving me only with the clean install option.
Can anybody point me to some directions for an upgrade installation, since I
don't want to do a clean one and lose my programs and files.

If Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista is currently installed,
you'll need to uninstall it before upgrading to Ultimate.

I had the same problem ...but now I can't re-install back Service Pack 1
(KB936330) with an other update (KB947562). Windows Update gives the error:
8024200D.
Is any help here?
