Hi, i have a problem connecting a vista business laptop to a remote server via remote desktop. The VPN all works fine, its just that when you get on to the acual server, it will not let you log on locally, rather than on the domain (the drop down box is greyed out!) Whereas when you connect with an XP computer, its fine and gives you the option! - any help appreiated

VPN is typically used to login to a "work" computer/server from home. I would start by contacting the IT folks that maintain the server. Since you're using a different computer, it will have a different MAC address. There's the possibility the folks maintaining the server have it configured to only accept the MAC address of your XP box.
