We have several DNS alias for websites, such as

PIT.TEST - points to server FQDN

From XP I can ping pit.test and it resolves correctly to the server but from Vista I cannot. It works only if I use the FQDN of pit.test.domainname. NSLOOKUP returns correct values and resolves correctly. IP settings same on both PC's. Disable firewall, defender just in case.

Any ideas?

Have you tried adding it to your "hosts" file?
